We are very proud to support our youngest crew mate, Juliet Beaton, with her initiative We’re Going Bananas to raise awareness to reduce the odd fruit and vegetable wastage in our local community.

Did you know that over 50% of fresh produce gets thrown away just because of what it looks like? Produce specifications in supermarkets mean that the majority of Australia’s produce isn’t allowed to be sold and put in store and instead is left to rot on farms which creates an environmental burden.

We also have the tendency to overbuy fresh produce which creates additional household wastage.

What’s going on? We’re all going bananas and we need to change our buying habits and do our bit to help fix this waste issue.
